Please join us for the Fall 2011 ACC Meeting in Dhaka, Bangladesh.December 10-11, 2011

You are invited to join us in Dhaka for the 15th meeting of the Asia Cohort Consortium. At this meeting, we will discuss the ACC progress over the recent period, present results of ongoing studies and plan new projects. Anyone with an interest in cohort studies in Asia is welcome to attend.

A block of room has been reserved for ACC attendees. Please note that December is the busiest time at the hotel and rooms will book up quickly. We advise you to make your hotel reservation before November 1.

The negotiated rates are $149 for deluxe room and $181 for premier room. These rates are inclusive of all taxes and fees and also full buffet breakfast.

Ground transport to hotel:

The hotel will also arrange for airport pick-up and drop-off if you have given your flight info during hotel reservation. There will be a Pan Pacific Sonargaon representative (there is also a hotel booth) at airport right after you come out after customs checking point.

We will host a conference dinner the evening of December 10 (location to be announced). We will arrange transportations between the hotel and meeting location at ICDDRB and also to the dinner location.

Visa Information:

Citizens of most countries (including USA) require a visa for visiting Bangladesh. Please download the visa application form for residents in USA. Other countries should apply for visa from Bangladesh consulate in their respective home countries. We will arrange an invitation letter to all attendees. When emailing, please send the following information for the invitation letter:

  • full name
  • title
  • institutional affiliation (i.e., University, agencies, etc…)

To obtain a visa, the applicant must submit the following:

  • One copy of completed Visa Application Form.
  • One 37mm X 37mm photograph taken within the last six months.
  • Passport, valid for at least six months.
  • For US nationals Visa Fee is US$150.00.

Mailing instructions:

In case the applicant chooses to apply by mail, he/she must send a self-addressed, postage paid envelop for return service. The applicants are advised to send pre-paid envelopes from USPS, UPS, DHL, FedEx etc. for efficient and secured service. It is best to do an overnight return.
